Rice Lake NWR, MN, July 1 2017

We were surrounded by song and breeding birds at Rice Lake NWR in Minnesota. The day started
with the wonderful eery song of snipe and continued with several special experiences:
Sedge Wrens in territorial display,
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers feeding a family in a nest cavity,
and Black Terns foraging in close channels.
Add egg laying turtles and a black bear, and you can imagine how much fun we had!
