Matt Shook, the Assistant Director of Highlands Environmental Research Institute (HEnRI), describes the techniques used to determine the gender, condition, and age of a Wood Turtle. 
This female is at least 18 years old.  Tracking her movements this year will help to determine the status of Wood Turtle populations in the Park.
